Ornelas Named To All-ACC Academic Men's Cross Country Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Victor Ornelas, a senior from Fort Bragg, Calif., was named to the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Cross Country team, the league office announced Thursday. Ornelas, an exercise and sport science major at Carolina, was UNC's third finisher at both the ACC Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional. He was one of 20 student-athletes to earn the special distinction.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

The 2006 All-ACC Academic Men's Cross Country team is as follows:
