TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Junior Brie Felnagle earned her second straight All-America honors on Monday as she crossed the finish line in 11th place at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. The Tar Heels finished 27th with 493 points as a team in their 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships. Stanford claimed its second consecutive team title finishing with 145 points.

Felnagle tackled the 6K course in 20:29 and was the top runner for the Tar Heels at the national championships for the third consecutive year. Placing second for Carolina was senior Megan Kaltenbach who finished in 68th with a time of 21:31. Addie Bracy finished 111th overall and third on the squad as she crossed the line in 21:52.

Closing out the scoring for Carolina was freshman Courtlin LaReau (132nd/22:04) and sophomore Lauren Holesh (172nd/22:34). Also competing for the Tar Heels were Morgan Stengel (188th/22:54) and Emily Hoffman (202nd/23:21).

The Tar Heels finished third among the five Atlantic Coast Conference schools in the race as Florida State finished third and Duke took home 24th place. Carolina finished ahead of NC State who finished 29th and Boston College who placed 30th.

Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego claimed her second straight individual title with a 19:30.9 6K time. Kipyego was one of three runners to break the 20-minute mark, including Florida State's Susan Kuijken.
