         <description><![CDATA[The men's and women's cross country teams were recently honored for their performance not only on the trails but also in the classroom as they were both awarded with the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic award. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade point average.]]></description>

The Tar Heels finished 27th with 493 points as a team in their 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships. Stanford claimed its second consecutive team title finishing with 145 points.]]></description>

The Tar Heels finished in third at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Nov. 10 as Brie Felnagle captured the individual title and was joined on the all-region team by Megan Kaltenbach and Addie Bracy. The women will race at 12:55 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19 and can be seen on CSTV.]]></description>

Three different Tar Heels earned all-region honors as Megan Kaltenbach finished eighth and Addie Bracy finished 19th to join Felnagle on the all-region team. The men's team finished 14th overall and were led by a trio of runners with Alex Ray taking the top spot on the team with a 52nd place finish. The women's team will learn its fate on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. when the NCAA announces the National Championships field on NCAAsports.com.]]></description>
