Three Tar Heels surpassed NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Texas Relays in Austin,Texas last weekend. Freshman Laura Gerraughty had distances of 50-09 1/4 in the shot put and 168-11 in the discus to provisionally qualify.

Brent Callaway cleared a height of 17-2 3/4 in the pole vault to provisionally qualify, and Ian Douglas threw the shot put 59-02 1/4 to provisionally qualify, as well.
