Henning Places Fourth At USATF Indoor Championships

Feb. 25, 2008

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman Walter Henning made a trip to Boston, Mass. this past weekend for the USA Track & Field Indoor Championships and placed fourth in the weight throw. Henning improved on his previous season-best of 70-3 and recorded a throw of 70-5.25, just an inch shy of the automatic mark. The Kings Park, N.Y. native will be the favorite to claim the weight throw title this week at the ACC Indoor Championships set to be held in the Eddie Smith Field House in Chapel Hill. Henning's closest competitor has recorded a throw 10 feet shy of his top mark this year.

A pair of former Tar Heels were also in action in Boston as Alan Johnson finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.87. Erin Donohue placed fifth in the 3000 on the women's side as she ran the race in a time of 9:07.88.
