Tyler Harris Named ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week

Nov. 4, 2008

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Tyler Harris has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. This is the second time in his career that Harris has won the award.

Harris, a sophomore from Richmond, Va., had a dynamite performance in Carolina's loss to No. 9 ranked Minnesota last weekend. He won three individual events, anchored the second-place 800 free relay team and took fourth in the 200 fly. Harris won the 400 IM by five seconds in an NCAA "B" cut time of 3:51.17. He also took victories in the 200 breast (2:01.72) and 200 IM (1:50.40.). North Carolina fell 220-146 to Minnesota in the meet.

North Carolina (1-2) will take to the road to open their ACC schedule this weekend against Maryland and George Mason. The tri-meet begins on Saturday afternoon at Noon.
