  • Complete Podcast With Browning
  • CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--University of North Carolina redshirt senior Hank Browning of Cincinnati, Ohio sat down with members of the UNC Athletic Communications Office Wednesday afternoon for the first official swimming and diving podcast of the 2009-10 school year.

An ACC champion and NCAA qualifier, Browning is in his fifth year at Carolina after sitting out one year with a shoulder injury. Last spring, he was elected one of the three tri-captains of the 2009-10 Tar Heel team.

UNC Associate Athletic Communications Director Dave Lohse conducted the interview with the strong assistance of Alex Ismail, a junior member of the UNC swimming and diving team from Zionsville, Ind. Ismail has been working as a student volunteer in the Athletic Communications Office since May, helping Lohse and his fellow student assistant Sarah Stankavage with the production of the upcoming media guide and added content for the website.

Lohse and Ismail, two natives of Indiana and Purdue Boilermaker fans, "grill" Buckeye State native Browning on a variety of issues. Browning talks about his comeback from his injury, his thrill at being in the captain's role this year and his love of things Cincinnati sportswise. Lohse stumps him with a trivia question and Ismail discovers that Browning's favorite food may very well be mustard, in many varieties. Browning also provides insight on his first meetings with former Tar Heel teammates Brad Mitchell and Yi-Khy Saw when they enrolled as freshman in August 2005.
