April 1, 2004

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina men's and women's swimming and diving teams met Thursday to elect their captains for the 2004-05 seasons. The women's team elected three swimmers to serve as tri-captains while the men elected co-captains for next season.

Senior Jessie Brosch of University Park, Md., will return for her second year as a captain of the Tar Heel women's team. She will be joined by senior Kathleen Quinn of Lancaster, S.C. and senior Virginia Hanson of Birmingham, Ala.

The Tar Heel men will be led by senior Eric Mohr of Mequon, Wis. and senior Reid Owen of Chattanooga, Tenn. Owen earned honorable mention All-America honors at last weekend's 2004 NCAA Championships when he placed 13th in the 1500-meter freestyle.
