UNC Swimming & Diving Teams Named CSCAA All-Academic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina men's and women's swimming and diving teams were both honored for their academic performance in the fall semester of 2005 by being named Thursday to the College Swim Coaches Association of America Academic All-America Tems for Fall 2005.

A total of 53 men's swimming and diving teams were named to the list, including five from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heel men had a cumulative grade point avergae of 2.97.

The North Carolina women had a team GPA of 2.92 last fall and was one of eight of the 11 ACC schools named to the Academic All-America Teams. Seventy-eight NCAA Division I teams earned honors on the women's side.

Teams are recognized by the CSCAA if the team's composite GPA is 2.8 or greater in any given semester.
