UNC's Karatanevski Finishes Competition At World Championships

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - University of North Carolina senior diver Lauren Karatanevski completed her competition this past weekend in the 12th FINA World Championships at Melbourne, Australia, finishing 32nd in one-meter springboard diving and 34th in three-meter springboard diving.

Karatanevski competed for Macedonia in the World Championships. She is a native of Toronto, Ontario but her father was born in Macedonia so she has dual Canadian and Macedonian citizenship.

Karatanevski placed 32nd in one-meter springboard diving with a score of 179.25 points. She placed 34th in three-meter springboard diving with a score of 195.40 points.

This marked the first World Championships appearance for the Tar Heel senior diver.
