CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Swimmers from the University of North Carolina racked up most of the victories Saturday morning in action at the 23rd Tar Heel Invitational at the Maurice J. Koury Natatorium. UNC swimers swept both relay events and also won three individual events.

Other winners included two swimmers from the North Carolina Aquatic Club and one swimmer who competed unattached. Kari Woodall, a member of the United States National Team which competed in the 1999 Pan Pacific Championships in Sydney, Australia, won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.52 seconds.

The Tar Heel swimming teams will continue action next Friday and Saturday when they travel to Minneapolis, Minn. for dual meets against the homestanding Golden Gophers, Michigan and Nebraska. The Carolina women are currently ranked 18th and the UNC men are 22nd. Both teams are 0-1 in dual-meet competition after season-opening losses to Georgia (#1 women, #8 men in the nation).
