EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - The North Carolina men's swimming and diving team is in 27th place following the second day of the 2004 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Goodwill Games Aquatics Center. UNC has 11 team points.

Two Tar Heels competed on the second day. Senior Yuri Suguiyama finished 27th in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:48.36. Senior Eric Poitras finished 32nd in three-meter diving with a score of 245.55 points.

Four Tar Heels will be in events Saturday. Suguiyama and junior Reid Owen will swim the 1500-meter freestyle. Sophomore Josh Glasco will compete in the 200-meter butterfly and Poitras will compete in 10-meter platform diving.
