UNC Finishes Up Second Day Of NCAA Competition

ATLANTA, GA. - The North Carolina men's swimming and diving team completed action in its second day of the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Friday at the Georgia Tech Olympic Aquatics Center.

No Tar Heel competitor was able to advance to a Friday night final, however.

UNC's best finish was by junior diver Jon Fox of Neenah, Wis., who placed 23rd in three-meter diving competition with a score of 282.95 points.

North Carolina freshman Hank Browning of Cincinnati, Ohio, placed 26th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.21.

Carolina sophomore Ryan Funderburk of Summerfield, N.C., copped 33rd place in three-meter diving with a score of 244.85 points.

UNC has one more competitor remaining in the competition. Hank Browning will swim in the timed final of the 1650-yard freestyle on Saturday afternoon.
