Career Best Times: 1:51.69 in 200-yard individual medley; 3:51.25 in 400-yard individual medley; 1:47.75 in 200-yard butterfly; 2:01.87 in 200-yard breaststroke; 4:29.09 in 500-yard freestyle; 9:15.35 in 1000-yard freestyle; 15:35.73 in 1650-yard freestyle.
General: Clearly one of the most versatile swimmer to enroll at Carolina in many years...he is a tremendous IM specialist but also brings to Carolina great times in the 200 fly, 200 breast and the distance freestyle events...it will be hard for opponents to guess where he will be slotted in the Tar Heel lineup from meet to meet...finaled in the 400 IM at 2007 summer senior nationals, taking 15th place...his career bests would place him second in the 400 IM and ninth in the 200 fly on UNC's all-time depth chart.
Prep: A June 2007 graduate of The Steward School...a four-year swimming letterman there...competed in club swimming for Poseidon Swimming...has attained U.S. Swimming senior national qualifying times in the 200 breast, 200 fly, 200 IM, 800 free, 400 free and 400 IM...has already qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly...Richmond Times-Dispatch 2007 Scholar-Athlete of the Year finalist...was named by the paper as its 2007 high school male swimmer of the year...broke Virginia 17-18 age group records in both the 200-yard fly at 1:47.75 and 200-meter fly at 2:02.52...a Scholastic All-America selection...qualifier for U.S. Junior Nationals in 11 events, including at least one each freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke event...attended 2006 U.S. Swimming National Select Camp...March 2007 Richmond Times-Dispatch athlete of the month...honor roll student..member of FCA and treasurer of National Honor Society.
