UNC Fencers Travel to Penn

The University of North Carolina fencing team will compete in its first meet of the Spring season when they travel to the University of Pennsylvania to participate in the Philadelphia Invitational Multi-Meet. The meet is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, January 21st and 22nd , however, the Tar Heels will fence only on Sunday.

Women's teams include UNC, seventh ranked Northwestern, ninth ranked Penn, Cornell, Temple, Drew, Duke, Rutgers, and Haverford. In the January 18, 2006 USFCA Poll the UNC women's team did receive votes along with Duke. Men's teams include UNC, tenth ranked Duke, sixth ranked Johns Hopkins, Rutgers, Haverford, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Drew University.

The Tar Heels will next see action at the Penn State Duals in State College, PA. on Saturday, January 28.
