UNC Women's Fencing Sweeps Duke Invitational

Durham, N.C> - The UNC women's fencing team swept the competition at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on Saturday. The Tar Heels defeated Brandeis (20-7), M.I.T. (16-11), Duke (16-11), Ohio State (15-12) and Air Force (17-10). The sabre was especially strong for the Heels as they won that overall competition with 38 points.

On Friday, the Carolina men's team finished with a record of 3-2, defeating Brandeis (14-13), Ohio State (14-13) and Air Force (16-11). UNC fell to Duke (19-8) and M.I.T (17-10). The Tar Heels overall best weapon for the day was the foil as they finished tied for second with 24 points.
