UNC Fencers Compete at the Brandeis Invitational

Wartham, Ma. - The UNC Fencing team had their most productive outing of the season finishing 7-1 at the Brandeis Invitational. While the Tar Heel women went undefeated with wins over Boston College, Tufts, Sacred Heart, and NYU, the men's teams followed with a 3-1 performance with their only loss coming at the hands of NYU 14-13. The outstanding effort of the day came at the hands of junior epee fencer Courtney Krolikoski who finished the day at 10-0 while senior sabre fencer Jennifer Kling followed with a 10-1 outing. Stellar performances were had by epee fencers' Benton Heimsath and Mike Burkhart who completed the Sunday event with 9-1 and 9-2 finishes, respectively. The Tar Heels fencing team will compete in the Duke duals on the weekend of February 10th and 11th.
