Joe Pipkin is in his first year on the UNC staff and serves as assistant coach for development. A member of the Carolina fencing team from 2003-08, he was the MVP of the men's squad in 2003 and '04. As a member of the U.S. Junior Sabre Squad, he competed Dormagen, Germany, and Budapest, Hungary. He also is a U.S. National referee and has officiated gold medal bouts at numerous U.S. Nationals. A 2008 UNC graduate with a double major in Afro American studies and public policy, he works as an SAT prep instructor. |
