Mike Bedinger was born October 1, 1987 in Gainesville, Florida. He is the son of Mike and Susan Bedinger. He is an only child. At Carolina, Mike is majoring in Political Science and Economics. Mike graduated from Eastside High School in Gainesville. He was a member of the Varsity Soccer, Varsity Cross Country, and Varsity Track teams. He was a captain of both the soccer and cross country teams. A strong student, Mike was an International Baccalaureate Diploma Recipient. Mike walked on to the Varsity Fencing team this fall. A member of the men's foil team, Mike has excellent form and learns very quickly. He is expected to grow rapidly as a fencer and should contribute a great deal to the team in the coming years. Mike is a great student-athlete. He has many interests, including soccer, cycling, and magnetic poetry.
