Christina "Zini" Abruzzini was born on September 22, 1987 in Maywood, Illinois. She is the daughter of Anthony and Linda Abruzzini. She has 1 brother. A junior, Christina is a Business Administration major. Christina attended Apex High School, graduating in May 2005. At Apex, she was a member of the National Honor Society and DECA. She was also a starter on the Varsity Softball team, serving as both a pitcher and left-fielder. Christina walked on to the Varsity Fencing team at Carolina as a sophomore and has since made an undeniable impact on the team. She is a women's epee co-captain and is recognized by both teammates and coaches for her strong work ethic and positive attitude. Zini is an incredibly versatile student-athlete. Outside of fencing, she participates in many campus activities. She also enjoys rock climbing and volunteering.
