Kym Orr joined the Academic Support Program in 2002 and serves as an academic counselor. A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Orr attended SUNY Fredonia, where he earned a degree in sociology with a concentration in health care service administration and planning. He went on to earn a master's in education and college student development from Alfred University. Orr is in his second stint at UNC, having worked for the Department of Resedential Education from 1995-99. From 1999-2002, he worked in management for FedEx and Radio Shack. A track standout at SUNY, Orr was a four-time Division III All-America selection and national champion in the high jump. His personal best of 7'4 1/4" still stands as an NCAA Division III record. Orr's interests include cooking, home theater and listening to jazz music. He and his wife, Esther, have four daughters - Hallie, Marlee and twins Kayla and Maya. Orr also has a son, Stefahn Alexander. |
