UNC Softball Complex

In 2002, the North Carolina softball team began play at its new home, the UNC Softball Complex. The lighted facility, which measures 200 feet to all fields, includes state-of-the-art fencing, a new scoreboard, bullpens and batting cages, as well as a separate practice/warm-up field.

The complex is located off of Raleigh Road (Highway 54) behind the General Administration building.

Currently in place are temporary stands that seat 500. Still to be completed are permanent stands, locker rooms and a team building. The team christened the field in grand style on Feb. 23, 2002, with a doubleheader sweep of then-20th-ranked South Carolina after UNC football coach John Bunting threw out the first pitch.
